Don't Mess With the US Navy!

Just a few short years ago, it seemed like we were hearing reports of pirates hijacking ships near Africa almost on a daily basis.  Of the hundreds of ships hijacked, one story in particular always sticks out. One night shortly after midnight in April 2010, Somali pirates saw what they thought was a large cargo vessel in the Indian Ocean.  Knowing that large ships typically allow for a larger ransom, the pirates decided this ship would be their next target.  They fired on the ship and attempted to board the vessel.  Unfortunately for the pirates, the ship they fired on was actually USS Nicholas, a United States Navy frigate.  The Navy returned fire on the pirate ship, completely disabling it.  Sailors then boarded the disabled ... Safety in the Warehouse

How many times have you questioned the stability or capacity of the racking in your warehouse? Is the load too heavy for the beams? Does the forklift operator know how to properly place the pallet in the rack? Can the uprights withstand a collision with a forklift? These are common and very reasonable questions. Every company should focus on internal safety and have or create an internal safety committee to address these concerns. Boston Bombings

On Monday, April 15th, our nation once again felt the repercussions of evil and hatred.  The 117th Annual Boston Marathon was the scene of two homemade bombs that detonated within seconds of each other.  Three people were killed, and hundreds more were injured.  During the frenzy, thousands of heroes emerged: first responders who ran towards the blasts, EMS and medical personnel who spent countless hours helping the injured, law enforcement agencies who have been working around the clock to bring the responsible parties to justice.
