4 Steps to Pallet Rack Safety in your warehouse - OSHA Recommendations

PalletRacks004 How many times have you questioned the stability or capacity of the racking in your warehouse? Is the load too heavy for the beams? Does the forklift operator know how to properly place the pallet in the rack? Can the uprights withstand a collision with a forklift? These are common and very reasonable questions. Every company should focus on internal safety and have or create an internal safety committee to address these concerns. U.S. Military Gatling Gun Fires 1,000-2,000 rounds per minute

GAU-19/A Military machine gun capable of up to 2000 rounds per minute. Gatling guns are one of the best known machine guns in use by the U.S. Military. The GAU-19/A is a 3-barrelled, electric driven, automatic Gatling gun capable of firing 1,000 to 2,000 rounds of .50 BMG cartridges per minute.  Each barrel fires a single shot then rotates after each fire which assists with cooling between firing/reloading sequence.  This allows for achieving higher rates of fire without the barrel overheating. Ammo belts are fed into a feeder-delinker unit.  Each cartridge is pulled out of the links by the unit and presented to the gun for reloading.  The rate of fire is controlled by an electric circuit and can be adjusted up to 2,000 rounds per minute. The mounted rapid-fire machine gun has proven superior firepower performance and is currently used mounted on military aircraft, ground vehicles, and ships. ... Read more

Homeless Vets to move into Fort Snelling in MN - From stables and tank garages to apartments

Fort Snelling in the 1800's How appropriate that Fort Snelling be turned into housing units for homeless vets. Built in the early 1820's, Fort Snelling was strategically placed at the junction of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers to combat hostile enemies.  From the Civil War through WWII, Ft. Snelling has been a significant military post.  Now it's significance will lie in battling homelessness for military veterans. Abandoned for decades, the 5 units that used to house horses and tanks for active military members, now will house honorably discharged, homeless veterans.  Five of Fort Snelling's military buildings will be re-purposed into 58 affordable apartments for homeless veterans and their families.  These will not be transitional shelters.  These units will be permanent and fully equipped with multiple bedrooms. The developers plan to retain the historic integrity of the structures.  The ... Read more
